Primary Care

Dr. Arakere Prasad

Dr. Prasad has been practicing medicine on St. Croix for over 30 years. He provides outstanding Primary and Urgent Care Services for the whole family at the Princesse Health Center. Dr. Prasad is well known in the community and can be found exploring and biking around island.

Jennifer C. Samuel, PA C Jennifer C. Samuel, MCMSc, PA-C

I joined the Primary Care, PLLC team in 2014, after receiving my Master of Clinical Medical Science Degree from Barry University in St. Croix, and becoming Nationally Certified as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA. My Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a Chemistry Minor, was from Alabama State University. While at Barry University, I was honored to receive the “Catherine Margaret Parkhurst Memorial Scholarship Recognition Award for Compassion and Sensitivity”, and “The Marc and Mildred Rice Memorial Award for Excellence in Pediatrics”. As a Physician Assistant at Primary Care PLLC, I am honored with the opportunity to provide quality medical care to my home island community, while being part of a dedicated, compassionate Wellness Team.

Carlos Santiago, PA C Carlos Santiago, PA-C

Carlos has been a part of the Primary Care, PLLC Team for the last four years and brings decades of medical expertise in many areas, including Chronic Diseases, Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Urgent Care and More.

Traci Martinez, RN
Head Nurse

I have been part of the Primary Care PLLC team for over 10 years. I received my BSN from Adelph University. I brought 15 years of Emergency room experience to Primary Care PLLC. I enjoy building positive relationships with my patients, family members, and all members of the Health team.

Jackie Jeffers, BSN Jackie Jeffers, RN

Born and raised in St. Croix, I graduated from Interamerican University with a BSN. Anxious to start my journey as a Nurse, I began to volunteer at Primary Care, PLLC. Eight months later, I was employed and have been a part of the wonderful Primary Care, PLLC team for 2 years. I look forward to caring for you, and your family, here at Primary Care, PLLC.

Chelsea Acosta, Administrative Assistant

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix. I graduated from high school with my Diploma/Medical Assistant Diploma. I am currently studying Healthcare Administration and will graduate in 2017, with an Associate's Degree in Science.

Eva Martinez, Receptionist

I have been working at Primary Care PLLC for the last 16 years. I really enjoy what I do, and being able to assist patients in any way I can. Working at Primary Care PLLC is wonderful, and I look forward to many more years.

Aubrey Bogel, Cashier

I have worked for Dr. Prasad for 15 years. I enjoy working here because it feels like a family. We all work very well together and Dr. Prasad is a very understanding and family oriented employer, which goes a long way for employees. I couldn't ask for a more pleasant place to work.

Shannan Calhoon, CNM, Primary Care GYN Shannan Calhoon, CNM

I have been providing care to women for the past 20 years. My career started in 1994 when I accepted a commission in the United States Army after graduating from the University of Indiana with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. In 1996, while serving in the army as a nurse, I attended the OB/GYN nursing specialty course and earned the Distinguished Honor Graduate Award. This course enabled me to embrace my goal of working as an OB/GYN nurse and over the next six years in both military and civilian hospitals, I was responsible for providing Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, and Postpartum nursing care to women. In 2002, I graduated from the University of Miami with a Master's of Science in Nursing and earned the Excellence in Academic and Clinical Performance Award. For the last 13 years, I have enjoyed providing comprehensive healthcare to women of all ages in my role as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Nurse Practitioner. I believe it is important as a Midwife/Nurse Practitioner, to listen to the needs of my patients and to provide them with the best care possible and the most up to date information available. I have been with Primary Care, PLLC and Primary Care, GYN since 2009.

Nakisha Navarro Bermudez, Medical Assistant

I have been working for Primary Care PLLC for 6 years. I am currently working on my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with the goal of becoming a Neuropsychologist.

Roselyn Bermudez, Receptionist

I have been part of the Primary Care PLLC family since 2012. I am currently working on my Associate’s Degree in Health Science.

Housekeeping

Mary Lee Durand, Head of Housekeeping

I have been working at Primary Care, PLLC for over five years. I feel very happy to work with such a delightful group of people every day. In my spare time, I love to garden, sew, embroider and bake.

Lucy Reid, Housekeeping

I have been working at Primary Care, PLLC for the last 3 years. In my free time, I love to Bake and Cook, and I especially love to share what I prepare with others. Working at Primary Care, PLLC is very enjoyable because of the friendly staff and pleasant environment.
